What is Global Hack Week September 2023?
Global Hack Week is a week-long hacker festival. You can expect to complete challenges, hear about BIG community announcements, chat at hacker hangouts, enjoy fun live sessions, build technical projects, and make new memories.
You are in for an adventure featuring workshops, fun mini-events, challenges, panels, and more. These will help you to earn experience points no matter what level of hacking you are at, whether it’s writing your first lines of code or creating a multi-faceted project.
We'll have challenges, live technical sessions with MLHers, mini-events galore, and some cool content from our partners! Here’s a sneak peek:
-
Beginner-friendly workshops
-
Challenges for all difficulty levels and all topics such as design, social, technical, entrepreneurial
-
Hacker-run guilds
-
Talks from friends of MLH and our partners
-
Live sessions run by MLHers
-
And maybe an appearance from Totally Not Ryan (TNR)
Can I get swag at this event?
Yes, of course! GHW September will feature some amazing 2023 Hackathon Season swag…you’ll have to participate to find out exactly what you’re getting!
What is a Guild? How can I be a part of it?
One of the best parts of our community is that it allows people to meet and make connections with others, regardless of where you live. guilds are smaller communities within Major League Hacking. Whether you come in with a guild or not, you won’t be hacking alone.
Who organized Global Hack Week?
Global Hack Week is organized by Major League Hacking (MLH). It is our mission to empower hackers worldwide by providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Be Featured On Stack Overflow!
Stack Overflow has a ton of useful data for all types of developers. Using the information in the Stack Overflow API, build an app that would be interesting, entertaining, or educational for other students, developers, or technologists. You can use any data you like, including data from our public data set. Anyone that builds an app will have themselves and/or their guild featured on the Stack Overflow Blog! This post will be promoted across every Stack Overflow Q&A page, putting your work in front of tens of millions of your fellow developers! We'll also have our engineers select three winners who will be highlighted on our blog, podcast, and newsletter.
We'll judge each team's app on three criteria:
1) Stick to the theme
2) How creative
3) How helpful to others
Be sure to submit your project on our day-of Devpost!
